YouTube trending agent
The agent pulls YouTube Trending, picks a title, then asks for 12-month YouTube search growth on that title. If the board is hot and the series is rising, it is a film. If the board is hot and the series is dead, it is a spike.
A research agent should not dump the Trending list and stop. Anyone can open youtube.com/feed/trending. The useful step is the second call. Take rank 1, run source youtube on that title, and read 3M versus 12M. A clip that is Trending today with a flat 12-month series is news. A clip whose search series has been climbing for a quarter is a topic.
get_top_trends type YouTube Trending, then get_growth source youtube on the first two titles. Optional third call, same keyword on google search, to see whether the demand is also on web search.
YouTube's native objects are a Trending video chart and a search-interest series. The agent should say those words, not "YouTube trends are up." Use this for a video, a sponsorship, or a daily brief. There are no view counts here.
The loop
Watch YouTube Trending. For the top two titles, pull 12-month YouTube search growth. Say whether each is a spike or a topic.
1. get_top_trends(type="YouTube Trending", limit=10) 2. get_growth(keyword=<title>, source="youtube", percent_growth=["3M","12M"]) 3. Optional. Same keyword, source="google search" 4. Answer. Spike vs topic, one sentence each.

Questions
What does spike vs topic mean?
Spike. On the Trending board, 12-month YouTube search flat or down. Topic. On the board, and 12-month YouTube search up. Film topics. Treat spikes as news.
Can the agent also check TikTok?
Yes, as a second source on the same keyword. That is a different page. This URL stays YouTube.
Do I need YouTube Studio?
No. The agent never logs into YouTube. It reads the public Trending chart and the search-interest series.
